Ok, so this is me now in 2018. The fight ever goes on and on. I am now seeing a Clinical Weight Loss specialist and placed on a Keto Diet.
My sweet granddaughter Nicole, went to the store for me and purchased all of the food that I would need for 2 weeks on this program so that I could pursue my weight loss goals.
*My problem* I can't get around any more, due to excess weight. I now weigh 304 lbs and my body can't take it. I depend on my husband (and anyone else I can corral) to give me my food. He states he is too tired to cook 6 chicken breasts for me, but did bring home 3 puff pastry with cherry goodies and I caved it...mostly because I was so hungry as I hadn't eaten since early this morning; I even just gave up and got some Mt. Dew as well. If I were with Dr. Now, he wouldn't accept my complaints and would seriously reprimand me.
For those of us who seriously suffer from a low metabolism, it is a real problem for our bodies to "allow" any fat loss. ANY excess carbohydrates that we take in (probably no more than 20mg in one day) will dash all of our efforts in that category.
Here's another thought: Weight is GAINED with Insulin release. When I eat something with Stevia or any artificial sugars, our taste buds trigger the pancreas to secrete insulin, even when it doesn't have anything to work on, thus any sugar free foods that contain these sweeteners can make you release insulin and this is something that makes us gain or keep weight.
This "weight loss" thing has been a lifelong struggle and study for me.
Better "luck" or may the Lord's Spirit keep you!
